Planned Reading for November 2016

Hello everybody! I hope you are well and had a suitably spooky day yesterday. I had such a busy month in October, worst one yet! I started a new job and then promptly got a cold that lingered for ages so I spent many evenings zonked out on the sofa instead of being able to read lovely books.

I really feel the title of this post is a misnomer, because instead of telling you about what I plan to read, instead I am mainly going to tell you about all the lovely visitors I have lined up for November.

Mr Bennet's Dutiful Daughter by Joana Starnes - Cover Reveal
Firstly, I will be joining some other bloggers in the cover reveal of Joana Starnes' latest book, 'Mr Bennet's Dutiful Daughter'. This will be touring the blogosphere this month and it will come back here for the blog tour, when I will share my review of the book with you. I am not sure if I can tell you anything about the book yet or if it's a secret until the cover reveal so I will keep schtum for now. Just knowing it was by Joana was enough for me to want to read it, but the premise is one of my favourites too so I have high hopes I'll enjoy this read.

Book Cover: The Courtship of Edward Gardiner by Nicole Clarkston
Nicole Clarkston is dropping by to share a guest post relating to her new book, 'The Courtship of Edward Gardiner', which, as the title suggests, is a story focusing on the Gardiners before their marriage.

Author Regina Jeffers
Regina Jeffers will be visiting to share some news about her upcoming book, 'Mr Darcy's Bargain'. I don't know much about this book yet, so I am just as keen as you to learn more!

Book Cover: Darcy's Hope - Beauty From Ashes by Ginger Monette
Ginger Monette has written a book which has Darcy and Elizabeth against a World War I backdrop. 'Darcy's Hope - Beauty from Ashes' sees Darcy as a soldier who serves in both Britain and France. I've been lucky enough to read some of this, and I'll be joining in the blog tour of this book later in the month.

Book Cover: For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund
I haven't done very well in joining in group reads lately, but I hope to join in the read for the Austenesque TBR List Goodreads group, who are planning to read Diana Peterfreund's 'For Darkness Shows the Stars' which is a 'Persuasion'-inspired story set in a post-apocalyptic world! It's not my usual genre but this is supposed to be a very good read. I bought the book a long time ago and it has been waiting for me since then.

Aside from the blog, I have a very busy month ahead, with Guy Fawkes' night, Christmas shopping and various medical appointments and social engagements for me to ferry my children to and from, so I will be lucky if I get to read much, sob! If I am organised and am able to do the shopping more quickly online that will help massively. As you may have realised by now, I am always optimistic that I will get some reading in, so let's hope I'm right this time!

What do you have lined up for November? Let me know in the comments :)

  2. I hope you get a chance to read "For Darkness...". Certainly an "unique" Austenesque read. Lol, not my usual cup of tea either. Maybe not another like it for a while.

    1. I hope so too, Kirk, particularly as I've had the book for about 2 years. I am interested to see what it's like.

  3. Hi Ceri, hope things settle down for you a bit this month. I'm hoping that things are getting a bit more back on track for me regarding reading time now, too

I'll be popping back for all of your blog tour posts, I hope, and trying to finish books I started in the summer. I've had the privilege to beta some really good books over the past couple of months (why I've read little else, actually) and can highly recomend: Jennifer Joy's The Honorable Mr. Darcy, Joy King's Letters from Mr. Darcy and two from Maria Grace; Courtship and Marriage in Jane Austen's World and my personal favourite Pemberley: Mr. Darcy's Dragon.

    1. You sound like you've been really busy! I would have to restart all my reading if I'd started them a while ago, I don't have the memory for it. Hope you get some good reading time in, Anji!

  4. I have to smile even though I imagine you must be frustrated to be sick and have so much going on- I have such goals each year and each month, but they get side-tracked often.

You have a goodly crew of visitors and books for the month and I look forward to them all.

Yay, glad you are going to attempt the For Darkness Shows the Stars group read. I probably won't be able to start right away, but I hope to be in on the finish.

Feel better and I hope you have a good November.

    1. It wasn't a good time to be honest, but luckily I am feeling much better now. I am getting more used to the job, too, which makes me less tired. I hope to join in the group read, not sure when I can read it though, as I have some reviews I need to write up before it's been too long and I have to read the books again!

    1. Hi Oloore! I'm not sure exactly when the book is due out but I would assume it was later. Even if it was the same day it's still worth checking out the reveal as there is a wonderful giveaway attached :)

    2. Hello Ceri and thank you very much for your response! I will certainly come to your blog on 04 November to see the cover and try my luck, but when it comes to Joana Starnes making true my longstanding dream of reading her variation of arranged marriage variation of P&P I highly doubt my ability to wait till the end of contest or blog tour:))) So I will also certainly check our your blog for any further information on actual release. As of today there was no info on the book release date on Joana's blog :( KR, Oloore

    1. Thank you Rita! I am feeling better, which is just as well as the job is very demanding. We will have to see how it goes!

I hope you enjoy FDStS if you read it.

  9. Ceri, what a busy month you have. A new job? Congrats! Boo! Hiss! on being sick though.

I'm planning on doing more writing than reading in November (my nod to NaNoWriMo). I'm posting a story called Friends and Enemies where he finds out before leaving Netherfield Park how Elizabeth feels about him. I'm doing post-edit work on Mr. Darcy's Mail-Order Bride, which I hope to have out before month end, and working with the narrator for Love Letters from Mr. Darcy. Busy month.

I will, of course, take the day off to read Joana's new book when it releases. She's my HERO!!!

    1. I hope your writing is going well, Joy! I should imagine that is even more time-consuming than reading, and probably a lot more frustrating :)
